ECHO’s virtual interactive workshops are aimed at practicing communication skills to develop trustworthy relationships that enhance patient compliance and their overall satisfaction. 

In this 3-part workshop series, we focus on important conversational aspects such as recognizing what is an emotionally safe conversation, how to effectively say no and guide conversations through several mediums such as videos and role-playing.

Dope and Mirrors’ identifying emotionally unsafe conversations, and providing tips for safe conversations that are respectful, honest, supportive, transparent and non judgemental.

More please’  Exploring ‘testing behaviours’ of patients and tools on how to boost your comfort levels in managing these situations.

‘No means no’  Identifying the barriers in saying no to patients, and how to effectively and assertively overcome these barriers.

These modules were initially developed to aid providers who are managing chronic pain patients and opioid prescribed and have been further developed to address a broader healthcare provider audience.

Sessions are open to ECHO at UHN registered participants who have attended at least 1 ECHO at UHN session.
